Most all-inclusive resorts ask you to do nothing. Hotel Xcaret Arte quietly dares you to do everything, then makes it all free. Opened in 2021 by the Mexican company behind the Xcaret eco-parks, this kid-free resort is a love letter to Mexican art, food and craft. Each building is a Casa devoted to a discipline (painting, weaving, pottery, dance, literature). You two can drop into its daily workshop between swims, picking up a brush or throwing clay before a sunset cocktail on the rooftop.

Then there's the inclusion list that makes it unlike anything else on the coast. The All-Fun Inclusive rate covers meals by a collective of acclaimed Mexican chefs and premium drinks, plus airport transfers and unlimited entry to Grupo Xcaret's parks and tours: underground rivers, zip lines, a cenote circuit, a floating fiesta on Xochimilco-style boats and the famous nightly show at Xcaret Park. For honeymooners who want culture, adventure and serious food in one place, with no bill waiting at checkout, it is one of the most compelling stays in the Riviera Maya.

Highlights at a glance

  • Kid-free (16+; 18+ in Casa de los Artistas) with an All-Fun Inclusive rate
  • Unlimited entry and transport to Grupo Xcaret parks and tours
  • Around ten restaurants from a collective of acclaimed Mexican chefs
  • Daily art workshops: pottery, painting, weaving, dance and writing
  • Muluk Spa with treatment rooms carved into natural caves
  • Round-trip Cancún airport transfers included

Hotel Xcaret Arte shares an expansive coastal property with its family-friendly sibling, Hotel Xcaret México, but it sits in its own kid-free enclave beside the sea. The founding architect, Miguel Quintana Pali, designed the grounds to weave buildings around natural rivers, jungle and rock, so paths wind past turquoise channels and limestone grottoes rather than rows of loungers.

Art is everywhere. Murals, textiles, ceramics and folk sculpture by Mexican artists fill the corridors and suites. Each Casa carries its own creative identity. It feels less like a hotel lobby than a stroll through a contemporary museum that happens to have swim-up access to the Caribbean.

The Casas and Your Suite

All accommodations are suites, roughly 900 of them, divided among the themed Casas: Casa de los Artistas, Casa del Diseño, Casa de la Música, Casa de la Pirámide and Casa de la Paz, plus a central building that houses restaurants and event spaces. Standard suites are generous, around 650 square feet. Every one has a jetted tub and a private terrace facing the ocean, river or gardens. Swim-up categories open straight onto the pools, while the spa suites in Casa de la Paz add a volcanic-stone soaking tub on the terrace.

Each Casa runs a daily workshop tied to its theme, from weaving and painting to pottery, dance and creative writing. Rooftop pools and bars crown the buildings; the one atop Casa de los Artistas, closest to the water and reserved for its own 18-plus guests, is a perennial favorite at golden hour. For a honeymoon, book an oceanfront suite in Casa de los Artistas.

A Chefs' Collective on One Coastline

Food is the reason many travelers choose Arte over other all-inclusives. Dining was designed by a collective of well-known Mexican chefs. Roughly ten restaurants cover remarkable range. The lineup has included:

  • Xaak, an intimate tasting menu exploring pre-Hispanic ingredients
  • Encanto, from Michelin-starred chef Paco Méndez
  • Kibi-Kibi, where chef Roberto Solís pairs Yucatecan and Lebanese flavors
  • Cantina Vi.Ai.Py., chef Alejandro Ruiz's ode to Oaxaca
  • Chino Poblano, chef Jonatán Gómez Luna's Puebla-meets-China mashup
  • Apapachoa, a creative plant-based restaurant

Nearly all of it is included; Xaak's tasting menu carries a surcharge that is well worth paying for one special night. A hidden speakeasy pours mezcal cocktails to live music. Guests can also dine at Hotel Xcaret México's restaurants next door, expanding your choices to roughly 30 kitchens.

Why guests fall for it

Exceptional value once park access and transfers are counted
Creative, chef-driven restaurants, especially the Xaak tasting menu
Hands-on art workshops that become treasured honeymoon souvenirs
Staff who share real pride in Mexican art and culture
Rooftop pools with wide Caribbean sunsets

Muluk Spa: Rituals in the Rock

Muluk Spa is one of the most atmospheric in the Riviera Maya. Several treatment rooms are carved into natural rock caves. The experience begins in the Alchemist's Room, where therapists help you choose botanicals and oils for your ritual. The hydrotherapy circuit moves through pools, steam and contrast water, designed around the region's cenotes and underground rivers.

Spa treatments are an additional cost, but booking a couples' ritual here is a worthy splurge, especially after a big park day. Plan it for late afternoon so you can float straight from the hydrotherapy circuit to a rooftop sunset.

Unlimited Parks and Tours

This is where Arte stands apart. Your stay includes round-trip airport transfers plus unlimited transportation and entry to Grupo Xcaret's parks and tours. Couples' favorites include swimming the underground rivers and zip-lining at Xplor, snorkeling the inlet at Xel-Há, a cenote circuit at Xenotes and an evening at Xcaret Park, where the big show traces Mexico's history through music and dance. Xoximilco is a raucous, joyful night of mariachi and Mexican food on colorful boats.

Recent packages have also included the Xailing catamaran trip to Isla Mujeres, so ask what is on the current list. You could easily fill a week without opening your wallet, which makes the rate easier to justify than it first appears.

Why Guests Fall in Love

The recurring theme in guest feedback is surprise at the sheer value. Couples consistently say that once park access, transfers and chef-driven dining are factored in, the stay feels generous rather than expensive. The food is the other big talking point: reviewers rave about the variety and the quality of the signature restaurants. Many name Xaak's tasting menu as a trip highlight.

Guests also love that the art isn't decorative filler. The workshops become cherished memories. Couples often head home with a pot or a painting they made together. The staff earns warm praise for being proud and knowledgeable about Mexican culture. The kid-free setting makes the rooftop pools and speakeasy feel relaxed and grown-up.

Good to Know

With roughly 900 suites and expansive grounds, this is a large resort. Expect to walk or ride the internal transport. Give yourselves a day to learn the layout. Popular restaurants and workshops can book up, so reserve as soon as you arrive or through the app before you travel.

The waterfront here is a compact swimmable beach and sheltered inlet that's great for snorkeling, rather than a long sandy strand like Maroma or Tulum, so beach purists may want to add a day at the coast's broader beaches. The minimum age is 16. Casa de los Artistas is reserved for guests 18 and older. Park days are big, so alternate them with slow pool days to avoid exhaustion. Sargassum seaweed can wash up along the Riviera Maya, mostly from spring through summer, when the rooftop pools become your beach. If you're pregnant or hoping to be soon, check CDC travel health notices for Mexico, since mosquito-borne illnesses occur here.

Insider tips

  1. Book an oceanfront suite in Casa de los Artistas for the closest sea views and the 18-plus rooftop pool.
  2. Book the Xcaret Park evening show for a night when you can sleep in the next morning; it runs late.
  3. Reserve Xaak and the spa early in your stay, as both have limited capacity.
  4. Use the dining access at neighboring Hotel Xcaret México for even more variety.

FAQ

Hotel Xcaret Arte questions, answered

What does All-Fun Inclusive at Hotel Xcaret Arte include?

The rate covers your suite, meals at the resort's restaurants, premium drinks, daily art workshops and round-trip airport transfers. It also includes unlimited entry and transportation to Grupo Xcaret's parks and tours, including Xcaret, Xel-Há, Xplor and Xenotes, plus the catamaran to Isla Mujeres. Spa treatments, premium cuts and the Xaak tasting menu cost extra. Confirm the current park list when booking.

Is Hotel Xcaret Arte kid-free?

Yes. Hotel Xcaret Arte welcomes guests aged 16 and older. Casa de los Artistas, with its oceanfront suites and rooftop pool, is reserved for guests 18 and up. Its sister property, Hotel Xcaret México, accepts families. The two share dining access, but Arte's suites, rooftops and pools are for its own guests, which keeps the mood calm and couple-friendly.

Is there a beach at Hotel Xcaret Arte?

Yes, the resort fronts the Caribbean with a swimmable beach and calm, clear water that's good for snorkeling, but it is a smaller waterfront than the long sandy beaches of Maroma or Tulum. Most guests split their time between the rooftop pools, the river and the shore. The park passes make a day at Xel-Há easy.

How many days should we stay to make the most of the parks?

Five to seven nights is the sweet spot. That gives you time for three or four park days, such as Xcaret, Xplor and Xel-Há, while leaving room for workshops, a spa ritual and at least a couple of unhurried pool days. Shorter stays still offer good value but can feel rushed.

How do we get to Hotel Xcaret Arte from Cancún?

Round-trip transfers from Cancún International Airport are included in the All-Fun Inclusive rate. The drive takes roughly 45 minutes, depending on traffic. Provide your flight details in advance so the hotel can schedule your pickup. Look for the Xcaret representatives after you clear customs.
