About Honeymoon Huts

An independent guide to romantic retreats, written for couples in the US

Honeymoon Huts is an independent online guide to the world's most romantic places to stay, created for couples in the United States who are planning a honeymoon, an anniversary escape or simply a trip that deserves to feel extraordinary. We focus on retreats with a genuine sense of place: overwater bungalows, treehouses, glass igloos, safari lodges, ryokans, cliffside suites, cabins and countryside estates.

This page explains what we do, how we research, how we make money and how we use images, so you can decide for yourselves how much weight to give our recommendations. We think you deserve to know exactly how a travel site works before trusting it with one of the most meaningful trips of your life.

Our Mission

Planning a honeymoon should be joyful, but it's easy to drown in sponsored lists, recycled rankings and reviews that contradict each other. Our goal is to be the calm, well-informed friend in the middle of all that noise: someone who has done the homework, tells you what's genuinely special about a place and is honest about the trade-offs.

We write for real couples with real constraints. Not everyone has three weeks and an unlimited budget, so we cover places close to home as well as far-flung dream trips. We explain the practical side, from transfers and seasons to what's included in the rate, with the same care we give to the sunsets.

Editorial Independence

Properties do not pay to be featured on Honeymoon Huts. We do not accept payment in exchange for positive coverage. Our editorial decisions, including which retreats we include, how we describe them and what we flag as good to know, are made independently of any commercial relationship.

We sometimes earn affiliate commissions, explained below, but those relationships are with booking and travel platforms rather than individual hotels. They don't influence our choices. If we ever publish sponsored content in the future, it will be clearly labeled as such.

How Our Research Works

Every destination and property guide begins with research across multiple reputable sources. We review official property information for the facts that matter to couples, such as room types, dining, spa, activities, kid-free or all-inclusive policies and how you get there. We consult respected travel publications and established hotel recognition programs. We also look at broad patterns in what past guests consistently praise.

We then write everything in our own words. We don't copy text from other sites. We don't publish quotes, star ratings or review scores we can't stand behind. When something can't be confirmed, we leave it out or describe it in general terms. We avoid exact nightly prices because rates change constantly; instead we use approximate price tiers. We don't restate entry or visa rules, which depend on your citizenship and can change at short notice; instead we point you to official government websites.

Hotels change too. They rename, renovate and close for the season, so we review our pages and add clear notices when we learn about changes. If you spot something that looks out of date, please let us know.

Honeymoon Huts is supported by affiliate commissions. When you click certain links on our site (such as a button to check availability at a hotel, book an experience, buy an eSIM or compare travel insurance) and then make a purchase, the partner company may pay us a commission. This doesn't add anything to the price you pay.

In keeping with the spirit of the US Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements, we want this relationship to be clear and conspicuous. Pages that include affiliate links carry a disclosure. We describe our partner links honestly. We only link to companies we believe are reputable and useful for honeymoon planning.

When you book through a partner, your contract is with that company. Prices, availability, inclusions, cancellation terms and customer service are handled by them, so please read their terms carefully before you confirm.

About Our Illustrations

You'll notice that much of the imagery on Honeymoon Huts is illustrated rather than photographed. These illustrations are original artwork created for this site. They're designed to evoke the mood of a type of place, such as a lagoon at dusk, a forest under the aurora or a vineyard at golden hour, rather than to depict any specific property exactly.

We add photographs only when we have permission to use them, whether from the rights holder or under a license that allows it. We never pass off illustrations as photographs of a real hotel room. We encourage you to view a property's official photos before booking.

Get in Touch

We'd love to hear from you if you've spotted an error, have a question about a destination or want to share how your honeymoon went. We read every message, although we can't promise to answer every one individually or to provide personal travel advice.

FAQ

Can hotels pay to be listed on Honeymoon Huts?

No. We don't accept payment from properties for inclusion or for favorable coverage. Our listings are based on our own research into what each retreat offers couples.

Do I pay more when I book through your links?

No. Affiliate commissions are paid by the partner company and don't change the price you see. Prices and terms are set by the booking site, so compare and read the details before you confirm.

Can you book our honeymoon for us?

We're an editorial guide, not a travel agency, so we don't make bookings or handle payments. Our pages link you to trusted partners where you can reserve directly. For complex itineraries, some couples also choose to work with a licensed travel advisor.

What if a hotel has changed since we wrote about it?

Hotels renovate, rename and occasionally close, so always confirm the details that matter to you with the property before you book. Where we know about a renovation, closure or name change, the page carries a notice. Our partners show live availability and rates.
