At a glanceFour nights on Grace Bay and four on the private island of Parrot Cay, linked by a 15-minute drive and a 35-minute boat ride. It suits couples who want easy flights, calm turquoise water and restaurants before a quiet, spa-focused finish with almost nobody else around. Go mid-December through April for dry weather and passing humpbacks, or May and June for better rates.
Turks and Caicos is one of the easiest beach honeymoons from the US, about 90 minutes by air from Miami. This 9-day itinerary splits the trip in two: four nights on Grace Bay, the three-mile beach on Providenciales, then four on Parrot Cay, a private island with one resort and a long, nearly empty shore.
Grace Bay gives you the fun half. You snorkel the reef from the beach, eat conch at a shack by the water, take a boat to Iguana Island and drive out to quieter beaches. Parrot Cay is the slow half and the splurge. You walk to breakfast barefoot, take yoga on the sand and book a couples' ritual at the COMO Shambhala spa.
The move between them takes about 50 minutes door to door. Mid-December through April brings dry, sunny weather and the chance of humpbacks offshore. May and June are quieter and cheaper. Neither stop is a budget choice, so plan accordingly.

Day by day
Days 1–3: Grace Bay, Providenciales
Fly into Providenciales International Airport (PLS), with nonstops from Miami, New York, Atlanta and Charlotte, among others. Grace Bay is about 15 minutes away. Grace Bay Club, the first luxury all-suite resort on the beach, is our pick. Its kid-free Hotel Building has 22 oceanfront suites with its own infinity pool.
Spend day one on the sand. Snorkel Bight Reef from the beach early on day two, when the water is calmest and clearest, then take a sunrise paddleboard the next morning.
On day three, book a private boat to Iguana Island and the cays, with a sandbar stop and a picnic. Returning at sunset on calm water is the romantic moment of this stop. That evening, eat conch at Da Conch Shack or join the Island Fish Fry if it is a Thursday.
Day 4: North and Middle Caicos
On day four, trade the resort strip for the quiet, green side of the islands. Take an early ferry from Walkin Marina in the Leeward area, about 15 minutes from Grace Bay, for the 30-minute crossing to Sandy Point on North Caicos. Rental agents meet the ferry. Some day tours bundle the boat, a car and a map.
Drive about 45 minutes over the causeway to Middle Caicos to walk the clifftops at Mudjin Harbour, where waves break against limestone below. Check tide times if you want to reach the hidden beach under the cliffs. On the way back, look for flamingos on Flamingo Pond and stop for a picnic on Bambarra Beach, often with nobody else on it.
Pack water, snacks, sunscreen and hats, since services are sparse. Fill the gas tank early. Take a ferry back with time to spare so you are not driving in the dark, then keep dinner simple near your hotel.
Days 5–9: Parrot Cay
On day five, the resort collects you for a 15-minute drive to Leeward Marina and a boat ride of roughly 35 minutes to Parrot Cay. There is essentially one place to stay: COMO Parrot Cay. Terrace Rooms and ocean-facing suites are comfortable, but the honeymoon favorites are the Beach Houses, freestanding retreats on the sand with heated private pools.
This is the slow stretch. There are no cars for guests, no shops and no nightlife. You get around on foot, by bike or by resort shuttle. Start each day with yoga on the beach or a walk along the shore. Book a couples' ritual at COMO Shambhala before you arrive, since treatments fill in peak season.
In between, kayak the mangroves or ask the resort for a private boat to a sandbar. Bring a good book or two.
The romantic moment here is a private dinner on the sand under the stars, set up by the resort on your last night. On day nine, take the boat and drive back to PLS, leaving comfortable time for the transfer.
Getting Between Stops
The move from Grace Bay to Parrot Cay is simple. The resort arranges a drive of about 15 minutes to Leeward Marina, then a boat of roughly 35 minutes to the island, so the total is about 50 minutes. Plan flights to allow plenty of time on both ends.
On Providenciales, taxis are widely available but pricey, with fares set by zone and per person. Rent a car for a day or two to explore quieter beaches such as Taylor Bay, Sapodilla Bay and Long Bay. Driving is on the left. Bikes are an easy way to get around Grace Bay itself.
For the North and Middle Caicos day trip, the passenger ferry from Walkin Marina to Sandy Point takes about 30 minutes and runs several times a day. Book ahead in high season. You need a rental car on the other side. Gas stations are few.
Where to Stay
Grace Bay is lined with upscale resorts and condo-style hotels, most with spacious suites and ocean views. Grace Bay Club stands out for couples because of its kid-free Hotel Building, infinity pool and the romantic Infiniti restaurant and bar. Many Grace Bay suites have kitchens, which helps with breakfast and snacks.
On Parrot Cay, choose your room by privacy. Terrace Rooms come with garden or raised ocean-facing views. The Beachfront Suite has a private pool. The Beach Houses are the top choice, with heated private pools on the sand.
Couples who want to reverse the order can start on Parrot Cay and finish on Grace Bay. We prefer ending on the private island, because the quiet is what most honeymooners remember. Consider a full-board package on Parrot Cay, since you will take every meal at the resort.

When to Go
Mid-December through April is peak season, with dry, sunny weather and highs in the low to mid 80s Fahrenheit. Humpback whales migrate through the Turks Island Passage from roughly January through April. Book early for the holidays.
May and June are a sweet spot: warm water, calmer seas, fewer visitors and lower rates. Summer is hotter and more humid but still beautiful.
The Atlantic hurricane season runs June through November, with the greatest risk from August through October. Because Parrot Cay is reached by boat, rough weather can affect transfers, so build flexibility into your plans and buy travel insurance. The Turks and Caicos Conch Festival, usually in November, is a fun local event if your dates line up.
Budget and Booking
This is one of the pricier honeymoons in the Caribbean. As an approximate guide, oceanfront suites on Grace Bay run from several hundred dollars to well over $1,000 a night in peak season. Parrot Cay rates typically start in four figures a night and climb steeply for the Beach Houses.
Balance the budget by keeping Grace Bay meals casual at conch shacks and fish fries. Use a suite kitchen for breakfast. On Parrot Cay, ask about full-board or inclusive packages.
Book both resorts early for December through April. Reserve spa treatments and the private beach dinner before you arrive. Popular Grace Bay restaurants also fill in high season, so book a few key dinners ahead.
Staying Comfortable and Safe
Turks and Caicos is calm and easy, but one rule matters before you even leave home. Check every bag for stray ammunition. Carrying even a single round is a serious offense here, so empty pockets and gear bags carefully.
Wear reef-safe sunscreen to protect the coral. Snorkel early when the water is calm. Pack insect repellent, since mosquitoes and sand flies come out near the mangroves at dusk, especially on Parrot Cay and North Caicos. If you're pregnant or hoping to be soon, check CDC travel health notices before you book.
On the North and Middle Caicos day trip, take water, snacks, hats and sturdy shoes for the Mudjin Harbour cliffs. Keep cash for small restaurants and fuel. Dress on both islands is relaxed resort wear for both of you.
Make It Shorter or Longer
For a 7-day trip, spend three nights on Grace Bay and three on Parrot Cay. You will lose the North and Middle Caicos day trip, but the shape stays the same.
With 10 to 12 days, add a fifth night on Parrot Cay or stretch Grace Bay to five nights for more boat days. Couples who want more solitude can spend a night or two in a clifftop cottage on Middle Caicos above Mudjin Harbour, simple in style but spectacular in setting.
If Parrot Cay is beyond the budget, spend the whole trip on Grace Bay and add two quiet days at a smaller resort on a different stretch of Providenciales. You keep the calm water and short flights while saving thousands of dollars.
FAQPlanning this trip
How do you get to Parrot Cay?
Fly into Providenciales (PLS). The resort arranges a drive of about 15 minutes to Leeward Marina, then a scenic boat ride of roughly 35 minutes to the island. The whole transfer takes about 50 minutes. There are no cars for guests on Parrot Cay, so you walk or bike once there.
Is Parrot Cay worth the price for a honeymoon?
For couples who value privacy above almost anything, yes. You get one resort, a long and nearly empty beach, a renowned spa and private dinners on the sand. There is no nightlife or shopping. Pairing it with Grace Bay gives you restaurants and energy first, then the island's quiet.
How long should we spend on Grace Bay?
Three or four nights is ideal before moving to Parrot Cay. That gives you time for reef snorkeling, a boat day to Iguana Island and a day trip to North and Middle Caicos. Longer stays work well for couples who prefer a beach town to a private island.
Can we see whales in Turks and Caicos?
Yes. Humpback whales migrate through the Turks Island Passage from roughly January through April. Sightings are most likely on dedicated boat trips. A February or March honeymoon gives you the best odds while also falling in the driest weather.
What is the best time for a Turks and Caicos honeymoon?
Mid-December through April has the driest weather and the chance of whales, though rates are highest. May and June offer warm water, calm seas and lower prices. Late summer and fall carry hurricane risk, which can disrupt boat transfers to Parrot Cay.
